THE Department of Health (DOH) on Friday, May 7, 2021, said President Rodrigo Duterte’s doctor and the Presidential Security Group (PSG) Hospital will be accountable for any possible adverse events following the President’s inoculation with a Sinopharm vaccine.

In a virtual press briefing, DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said the applicants for a compassionate special permit (CSP) are accountable for adverse events following immunization (AEFI).

"It means that the hospital or doctor that applied for the CSP will be accountable here," she said.

Exposure to patients leading cause of Covid-19 cases in San Fernando

EXPOSURE to infected patients is seen to be the leading cause of infection among the active coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in the City of San Fernando, the City Information Office (CIO) reported.

THE Bureau of Immigration (BI) said it will implement an order from Malacañang on the imposition of restrictions for travelers coming from Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh starting May 7.

THE Bureau of Immigration (BI) said it will implement an order from Malacañang on the imposition of restrictions for travelers coming from Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh starting May 7.

Exposure to patients leading cause of Covid-19 cases in San Fernando

EXPOSURE to infected patients is seen to be the leading cause of infection among the active coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in the City of San Fernando, the City Information Office (CIO) reported.

As of Thursday, May 6, the CIO disclosed that 363 patients, or about 40 percent of the total active Covid-19 cases in the city were identified as close contacts of patients who earlier tested positive for the virus.

This means that they contracted the disease either from other family members, neighbors or friends who are coronavirus-positive.

THE number of confirmed coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in Pampanga has reached a total of 17,377 infections, according to the Department of Health (DOH).

The DOH said that 182 cases were recorded on May 6 alone.

Of the total number of cases, 15,210 have recovered, while some 1,624 remained active cases.

The province has recorded 2,253 new cases in the last 14 days.

Some 543 deaths have been recorded in Pampanga since the start of the pandemic.

NEW coronavirus cases increased for the third consecutive day, as the Department of Health (DOH) recorded 7,733 new infections on Friday, May 7, 2021.

As expected, the death toll from coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) went past 18,000 while recoveries exceeded one million on Friday.

In its case bulletin, the DOH reported 108 additional fatalities, surpassing 100 for the third day in a row and raising the death toll to 18,099. The case fatality rate swung back to 1.66 percent.
