ON JAN. 6, 2021, more than a hundred families were left homeless by a fire that broke out in the neighborhood of Tetuan Village along Cabato Road in Zamboanga City. The families were displaced and needed help regaining their lives.
M Lhuillier Financial Services Inc. has always prioritized those in need especially in times of calamity, and it quickly acted to send help to the fire victims. Those who lost their homes were housed in a temporary shelter at Tetuan Central School. There were roughly 254 families and about1,400 individuals who were victims of the fire in Tetuan Village. ...

THE Negros Occidental Provincial Administrator's Office has been placed on lockdown Wednesday, April after one of the staff tested positive for Covid-19.
Provincial Administrator lawyer Rayfrando Diaz said he had no direct contact with the Covid-positive employee since Monday as he had been attending biddings and other Capitol-related activities.
Diaz said the office staff has been placed in isolation while they will also undergo swab testing on Sunday, May 1.
Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson confirmed the new infection in the Capitol.

THE Regional Oversight Committee (ROC) cleared 3,328 of a total 4,051 barangays in the whole of Western Visayas of illegal drugs.
The figure constitutes 82 percent of all villages in the region, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Western Visayas reported.
PDEA-Western Visayas Spokesperson Ma. Graziella Tanaleon said the last barangays to be added to the growing list of drug-free villages in the region were the 26 barangays that were cleared by the ROC on April 27.

The recovery rate has also gone down to 87.31 percent after the city recorded 18 Covid-19 recoveries, bringing the total number of those who have recovered from the disease to 4,177.

GOVERNOR Dennis Pineda recently distributed P6.10 million worth of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) antigen test machines and test kits to the cities and municipalities of Pampanga to speed up efforts to contain the virus.
The antigen machines and kits were donated by Belvedere Vista Corporation to contribute to the Provincial Government’s efforts against Covid-19.

DEPARTMENT of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo Año said illegal drugs worth P487 million were seized in separate operations in less than a month.
He said various law enforcement units conducted 2,359 operations from April 9 to 26, 2021.
